The Importance of Watering Grass in the Fall

Fall lawn with leaves

The warmer temperatures that we have had recently have given a sense of a “false fall,” so while the weather has been warmer than normal, there is little time remaining for the growing season. This has important implications for the health and beauty of our lawns, especially when it comes to fall watering.

At this point in the year, it is important to not under-water your lawn, causing it to stress under the dry and sometimes windy conditions. It is our tendency to lean towards not watering as often or as deeply as we should, especially during this time of year.

It’s instinctual for us to want to stop watering for the year because we either feel like it isn’t needed or maybe our system is already winterized for the year. However, it is still very important to continue to water by hand when needed, especially after any treatment is applied to the lawn by our trusted team of experienced professionals to keep the lawn from drying out and to continue to encourage growth.

When will Integrated Lawn Care being Sprinkler System Winterization Services?

We have started our blowouts for the season. Even with the warm temperatures, we all know that the weather can turn in an instant. We are getting close to it being too late to perform this service as some much colder weather is coming upon us in the following weeks, and waiting too long could be detrimental to your system.

If you have our Sprinkler System Winterization service, and you are scheduled, be mindful about asking for a delay in service, as it could take several weeks to get that back on schedule for you since we schedule neighborhood-by-neighborhood. If you have not activated that service with us but would like to, get in touch with us and we can add you to the schedule!
